OpenAI has introduced a novel hardware product called Codex Micro, developed in partnership with Work Louder. This $230 device serves as a physical interface for managing AI agents, bringing agent interaction beyond the traditional screen. It aims to streamline developer workflows by providing tactile controls. The Codex Micro features RGB lights to indicate an agent's real-time status (thinking, running, waiting, done), allowing users to monitor multiple agents at a glance. A built-in joystick enables instant activation of common AI agent workflows, such as reviewing pull requests, debugging code, or refactoring. Perhaps its most innovative feature is a physical dial that allows users to dynamically adjust an AI agent's reasoning capacity. This enables quick adjustments for simple tasks and increased processing power for more complex problems, enhancing efficiency and control over AI-driven development processes.
