CBSE Board Exam 2027: What Is Official So Far
No 2027 date sheet yet. Here is what CBSE has confirmed for Class 10 and 12, and what to check with your school now.
As of 1 November 2026, CBSE has not published the date sheet for the 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 Board exams on cbse.gov.in. What is official so far is the paperwork: schools have sent CBSE the List of Candidates (LOC) with each student's details and subjects, and CBSE has set a short window to correct mistakes. This guide covers what CBSE's own circulars say, and what you should check with your school now.
The date sheet: not out yet
We checked the notices on cbse.gov.in on 1 November 2026. The only date sheet listed for this autumn is for a 2026 Class 12 special exam for students in West Asia. There is no 2027 date sheet for Class 10 or Class 12.
What CBSE has said about timing:
- Class 10: the LOC circular says the first Board exam is held in February–March and is mandatory for every student.
- Private candidates (Class 10 and 12): their exams are held in February/March/April 2027 along with the main exams.
Until CBSE posts the date sheet, treat any "2027 date sheet" shared on WhatsApp or social media as unconfirmed. A real one will be on cbse.gov.in, so open the site yourself and look for the same PDF.
What schools have already done: the LOC
The List of Candidates (LOC) is how a school tells CBSE who will sit the exam and in which subjects. CBSE's circular calls it "the most important activity" before the Board exams. Only students whose names are in the LOC can appear in 2027.
| LOC step | Dates |
|---|---|
| Submission with normal fee | 24 September to 21 October 2026 |
| Submission with late fee | 22 October to 30 October 2026 |
| Correction of data verification slip | 2 to 4 November 2026 |
Reminder 6, issued on 21 October 2026, told principals that day was the last date with the normal fee.
Fee facts from the circular (schools in India):
- ₹1,600 per candidate for five subjects, and ₹320 per extra subject.
- A late fee of ₹2,000 per candidate on top, for LOCs finalised in the late-fee window.
- Class 12 has an extra ₹160 for each practical subject.
- Visually impaired candidates do not pay exam fees for Class 10 or 12.
The correction window
After the last date, CBSE asked schools to generate a data verification slip for every candidate. If the student's name, mother's, father's or guardian's name, date of birth or subjects are wrong, corrections are allowed only from 2 to 4 November 2026, through your school. The circular says that once this window is over, "NO CORRECTION WILL BE ALLOWED BY THE BOARD."
Outside this window, subject changes are closed. CBSE says requests to change subjects after the LOC "shall not be accepted".
What to check with your school now
Ask your class teacher to show you, or your parent, your LOC details. Check:
- Spellings of your name and your parents' names, matching school records.
- Date of birth.
- Subjects and codes. CBSE warns about these pairs in particular:
- Class 10: Hindi A (002) or Hindi B (085), Urdu A (003) or Urdu B (303), Mathematics Standard (041) or Mathematics Basic (241).
- Class 12: Hindi Core (302) or Elective (002), English Core (301) or Elective (001), Sanskrit Core (322) or Elective (022), Urdu Core (303) or Elective (003), Mathematics (041) or Applied Mathematics (241).
- Your photograph. Make sure the picture against your name is really you.
The circular asks schools to have the final LOC list signed by the mother, the father and the student to confirm the names. If you spot a problem now, tell your school straight away. CBSE's corrections circular says students should go through their school, not write to CBSE directly.
Later, when admit cards come out, students, parents and the principal will be asked to confirm that the details are correct. Check again then.
Class 10: the two-exam system
The LOC circular confirms the main rules for Class 10:
- This LOC is for the first Board exam, which every student must take.
- Both exams cover the full syllabus.
- Students who pass can try to improve up to three subjects from Science, Mathematics, Social Science and the languages in the second exam.
- A student who misses three or more subjects in the first exam cannot take the second exam and is placed in "Essential Repeat".
- The LOC for the second exam is filled after the first exam is over.

Private candidates
CBSE opened online forms for private candidates in Class 10 and Class 12 on 8 October 2026. The categories include Essential Repeat, second-chance Compartment, earlier Fail/Essential Repeat results from 2021 to 2026, and students who passed in 2026 and want to improve. The normal-fee deadline was 23 October and the late-fee deadline was 30 October 2026.

What to do while you wait
You do not need the date sheet to start revising well. Spend 30 to 45 minutes a day on one subject, take short breaks, and keep a steady bedtime. Students who are behind can follow our calm late-start plan. Class 10 students can also revise chapter by chapter with our free Class 10 notes.
